Music changes perception

Music and mood are closely interrelated — listening to a sad or happy song on the radio can make you feel more sad or happy. However, such mood changes not only affect how you feel, they also change your perception. For example, people will recognize happy faces if they are feeling happy themselves. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/04/110427101606.htm# Posted …

Scientists turn skin cells directly into blood cells, bypassing middle pluripotent step

via sciencedaily.com Pretty amazing, but what would be more amazing is if they could go the other direction and create other types of tissue from blood. Blood is easily and quickly replaced, and plentiful in the body. Skin, plentiful, but not so quick and easy to replace. Posted via email from Vi Wickam’s posterous

CHEVY BILLBOARDS Make an Emotional Marketing Connection

I received these pictures in an email claiming that these billboards are all over Detroit during the Woodward Dream Cruise, a large classic car event in August.   These new Chevy Billboards capture the glory years of the US automotive industry. Pictures of America 1935 – 1939

I’m not sure who took these pictures, but they paint a vivid (black and white) picture of what hardships really look like, and should give us all an appreciation for how easy we’ve got it.   I would be happy to credit the photographer of these pictures, should someone notify me. America… during the years …

Wingsuits are Awesome!

I am sure that I’m not the only guy who think that this would be completely awesome to have, or the only guy who dreamed of flying with a jetpack as a kid.   Technology truly is amazing. http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2009/12/look-out-below-wingsuits-pushed-for-airbone-assaults/ Posted via email from Vi Wickam’s posterous

BarCamp / CityCamp

This looks pretty cool – a government 2.0 unconference. Geeks teaching local politicians and government how to use the internet properly to communicate with the community (in both directions), and hopefully to decrease costs in the long run.   http://barcamp.pbworks.com/CityCamp Posted via email from Vi Wickam’s posterous
